Studio Y Yoga and Wellness: Yoga Accessible to All Levels
April 5, 2016 | western
"Every body, every age, and every level of fitness." These are the people who are welcome at Studio Y Yoga and Wellness's classes—that is, everyone. The instructors here work hard to ensure that their yoga and Pilates classes not only appeal to a wide range of people from all walks of life, but are also acceptable to them. That's why you see so many classes on the schedule.
For beginners, there's Yoga 1. It helps practitioners ease into (or back into) yoga with a slow-moving, simple class that's focused more on stretching and releasing tension than building strength. You will work on your balance in this class, which should help you flow more easily through Yoga 2 and Yoga 2-3 classes or quick-paced Vinyasa classes. For a more challenging workout, head to the Barre/Pilates class. You may think the ballerina-like instructors are going to go easy on you, but they actually strengthen your body by challenging it at every twist and turn of the class, which mashes up barre moves with Pilates.
